RESULTS AND CONCLUSIONS: The use of ultrasonic extraction allowed for the determination of organophosphorus pesticides in maize with limits of quantification ranging from 0.2 to 2.0 μg kg-1. The HS-SPME technique enabled the determination of organophosphorus pesticides in maize with limits of quantification of 0.05 to 0.5 μg kg-1. The two methods were compared, and it was found that the method using ultrasonic extraction was superior in terms of the total time taken to complete the extraction, the simplicity of the method and the cost of the equipment used.
